Three Treasures

The Tao teaches us that there are three precious treasures. The first is compassion for from compassion comes courage. The courage to put others needs along side ours. The courage to seek out the path of the Tao in the face of a cold wind of cultural pressure.

The second is restraint from which one builds strength. The ability to say no to unnecessary desires. The strength to seek out virtue. The strength to do the right thing, even when the right thing is inconveinent or unpopular.

The third is humility for from it comes simplicity and right action. The skill to understand the nature of the Tao. The wisdom to become one with the universe and flow like the rushing water.

Do not just understand the what the teachings mean, be one with them and perform them daily.
