Encountering the Tao

Whether we know it or not, whether done consciously or unconsciously, or in whatever state we find the Tao, we acquire the benefits of such an encounter. A man who voluntarily goes into a river and cools himself from the heat gets the benefit of the water; so does the person who has been pushed into the river by another, or who while sleeping soundly has water thrown upon him by another.
