The Three Jewels

Chanting is no more holy than listening to the murmur of a stream, counting prayer beads no more sacred than simply breathing, religious robes no more spiritual than work clothes.

The goals or three jewels for a Taoist are mentioned in Tao Te Ching verse 67. They are compassion, humility and moderation. Taoism is about learning to live within the laws of nature and in harmony with the cycle of nature. It is about recognizing that everything is interconnected, that everything you do affects everything else around you. Taoists seek to live in harmony with the Tao.
