In Taoist teachings, we are often taught to think of the path of life as a stream. One who floats with the current finds that his way is easy. But if he fights and tries to go upstream too often, he soon exhausts himself. This is quite true. However, this can be misconstrued as simply ‘going with the flow’ i.e. having no control over our destiny or caring about where we end up. This is not right understanding. Seek a peaceful path whenever possible. Know too that there are times when we must go against the current to do what is right. Channel your chi for strength during these times.

  1. What is right? What is wrong? What are those, but figments of the mind?

Where else are we going to end up, when there is nowhere to go, when you are always here, always now?
