If we own nothing, we can not be owned by nothing. It is difficult in our modern world not to own anything. Very few of us can retreat to the mountains or forest where we can avoid such things. Yet, we can minimize. We can lessen the number of our possessions, so that we may increase our peace of mind. We do not need to impress others, or try to flatter ourselves with things that require great sacrifice to maintain. Simply live to live simply and follow the Way of Tao.
