Over And Done With

If we miss our train, it makes no sense to keep kicking ourselves for missing it as it moves further away from the station. We simply have to make arrangements to catch another. The train is long gone and there is nothing we can do about it now. It is over and done with. The same applies to many other things. We perhaps carry around regrets, rue about mistakes, tote grudges like heavy suitcases. But to what end? We should learn from these situations and move on. Things are over and done with.
