Who's Who?

We all wear masks of some sort. Some wear a mask of kindness and cheerfulness that reveal a dark side. Some wear a mask of quiet that disguises a warm and generous personality. We often wear these masks without even realizing we have them on. What would happen if everyone put their masks away and were just themselves? It would be a refreshing breeze of honesty. Sometimes people wear a mask because they are not at peace with their own person. They feign to be something or somebody they are not out of unhappiness, insecurity, or some other malady. Other times, people wear a mask to intentionally deceive. By following the teachings of the ancients, people could see that being yourself is the best thing you can be. The Tao of course wears no mask. It reveals itself to all and does not concern itself with opinions.
