Force Nothing

The ocean needs no help from us to cover most of the earth. The mountain river needs only gravity to send it on its journey. There is nothing forced. It is wise then is it not to let the Tao flow naturally from within. Making grand displays is best left for entertainers, magicians, but not true followers. If we can set aside facades and be ourselves or at least something close to ourselves, the Tao will come easy, the path will be gentle. To try to force such things, or expect results is to set one up for abject failure. To let the force of Tao come, it is best to get out of the way.
