Attached

Imagine something you treasure. Now imagine it being gone. We can value without being attached. That is the lesson of Tao Te Ching Verse 3. Becoming attached to something can drag us off the path like a tiger dragging its prey into the jungle. By not being attached yet feeling the value of something gives us the chance to value it more deeply. We can enjoy yet know that if it disappeared, we would not become flummoxed by such an event.
