The Knot Of Youth

All that is young shall grow old. Time unravels even the tightest knot of youth. The sapling today is the towering oak of tomorrow. We too grow old. Our vision becomes weaker and it is natural for our pace to become slower. Our familiar world becomes one that is less familiar and this may be discomforting. This is all a natural progression. We must step aside for a younger generation. It is troublesome to me that in my country, old age is seen as such a negative and older people are pushed out of things, while in other countries, older people are highly regarded. True, there are drawbacks but then again there are gains. Those who have wisdom gained from the Dao know this and are quite comfortable with the inevitable.
