The Pack - 62

Do not be quick to throw daggers. It is easy to condemn others when no one is looking into your past indiscretions, shall we say? The judge, jury, and executioner may be no more innocent or even more guilty than the defendant themselves. Even in these so-called modern times, a pack mentality forms as it did among wild animals thousands of years ago and a practice that carries on today as well. Are these defendants totally innocent? In many cases, the answer is no, but I wonder how many in the pack would still hunt if they were forced to be transparent about things in their own lives? Make no mistake my friend, the mentality is out there and all it takes is for you to make one slip, one tragic error, for there to be an unforgiving group spouting the party line flavor of the day and they will be ready to pounce. Verse 62 of the Tao Te Ching reminds us not kick someone when they are down for the way of the Tao is to help and not harm.
