1:00 a.m. In A Bar Somewhere

Hunched over a bar early in the morning, a down on his luck writer cobbles together some words as he downs some whiskey. Over in the corner, a man who knowingly has just a few months to live forgets his illness for a short time as he stares lovingly at his glass of whiskey; and on the other side of the room, a woman who is one past too many tries to remember what it was like to live before she got old and jaded. We all have bridges we must cross, roads we must travel. To learn about the Dao is not to learn the secret to everlasting happiness, it is to learn about life.
