Friends

There is an old saying, "The day your horse dies and your money's lost, your relatives change to strangers. This of course not only applies to relatives but it can to friends as well. There are plenty of fair weather friends in this world, but not as much fair weather. Beware of the stranger who wants to make friends with you. They can often be after something that you can provide or influence. Walter Winchell (who had few if any friends, especially at the later stages of his life) once remarked, " A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.
