Off in the distance beyond the canyon, the menacing clouds gather. A rumble of thunder shakes the valley below. The animals know what is coming and they seek to find shelter. It grows darker and darker, the ominous rules the sky. Rain begins to fall, a little at first, but then a steady increase. I find a ledge of rocks to stoop under and weather the storm. I remind myself that a downpour does not last all day and soon it will slacken and stop. The sun will shine again. The Tao Te Ching teaches us this.
