Every once in a while I take a drive over to the coast and visit a mansion that is open to the public. I’ve often daydreamed about living in a mansion somewhere by the sea; in a place so big and with so many rooms that we could go throughout the day without seeing one another if we wished. I would read a book by the fireplace and then we would meet at the large table in the dining room at precisely 6 p.m. We would enjoy a sumptuous meal with our linen napkins on our laps and spend the rest of the evening drinking spirits and watching the fire. A daydream, but a harmless one at that. Daydreams are fine as long as you don’t spend all your time in them.
